Arthur Ashe Essay Contest

Each year, USTA National holds the Arthur Ashe Essay Contest.  The winner of each of our nine states in the Southern Section will win a trip to Winston Salem in August during the Winston Salem Open.  Each participant must be an active NJTL Chapter, enrolled through the USTA Foundation. 

What is NJTL? as stated on ustafoundation.com:

The goal of the organization was to have a positive impact on at-risk children by introducing them to tennis to keep them off the streets and to encourage them to stay in school. Today, the program continues to be the largest grassroots tennis program in the United States, with more than 650 chapters. It is now known as the National Junior Tennis & Learning network and is supported by the USTA Foundation.
