MS Sports Hall of Fame Announces Becky Vest as 2023 Inductee

The Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame recently announced that Becky Vest will be inducted into the 2024 Class of the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame!

Becky is one of the best female tennis players in the history of the state of Mississippi. She is the only female born and raised in Mississippi that has made it to the singles main draw at the French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open.  In addition, she was a pioneer for women's professional tennis, as she competed on the Virginia Slims Professional Women's Tennis Tour, which was the basis for what eventually became the WTA Tour.

Vest joins a small, select number of tennis figures to be inducted into the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame.  She goes in alongside her mother Dorothy Vest, who was inducted in 1980 after an illustrious career on and off the court.  The entire Vest family was influential in Mississippi tennis history, as they spearheaded the construction of Battlefield Tennis Center, Parham Bridges, and the growth of the sport.

Becky Vest will be formally enshrined next summer during the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame Induction Weekend on August 2nd-3rd, 2024. Tickets will go on sale in January 2024.
