JTT June Captain of the Month

The USTA Mississippi proudly recognizes James Bracken, a dedicated Junior Team Tennis (JTT) captain from Northeast Mississippi, as the June Captain of the Month. With 6 years of experience as a JTT captain under his belt, James has made a significant impact on the tennis community.

Initially, James started captaining teams because he recognized that his high school team had limited playing opportunities during the spring season. Since then, he has been instrumental in leading multiple teams, typically 3-6 per year, and fostering growth and development among his players. What drives James' passion for coaching is building strong relationships with the kids and watching them improve.

A native of Mooreville, Mississippi, James played high school tennis before walking on at Itawamba Community College. He has also coached at Amory High School and Itawamba Agricultural High School for four years before recently accepting the position of head coach at Saltillo High School.

In addition to his coaching endeavors, James is an active participant in USTA league play. When it comes to professional tennis, his favorite player is Novak Djokovic. James' dedication to the sport and his players has earned him this well-deserved recognition as the USTA Mississippi's June Captain of the Month.
