Geoff Norton named Executive Director of USTA Mississippi

Geoff Norton has been named Executive Director for USTA Mississippi, Jim Warren, President of USTA MS announced today. Norton succeeds Ann Brady, who is retiring after 20 years in the Executive Director position. He will assume the day to day operations for USTA MS and lead and direct the staff to Promote and Develop the Growth of Tennis across Mississippi in mid-April.

Norton is not new to MS, he was hired in 2012 as the USTA Southern Section Tennis Service Representative for Mississippi. In that role, he has helped promote and develop the growth of tennis in Mississippi working side by side with the USTA MS staff, tennis professionals and facilities throughout the state. He is the former USTA National Manager for Adult/Senior Competition & Technical Programs as well as the former director of development for Professional Tennis Registry, where he continues to serve as a clinician.

Geoff was a staff member on Tyler Junior College’s Tennis Technology Program, a member of the USA Wheelchair High Performance coaching staff and World Cup coach. He spent time working with USTA professional tournaments including Davis Cup as well as serving on several USTA boards and committees. He has written for various tennis publications such as Racket Sports Industry, Italy’s Tennis Oggi as well as co-author of the “Special Olympics Tennis Coaches Guide.” He received the International Wheelchair Coach of the Year 2008 from the Professional Tennis Registry and was the Texas Professional of the Year in 2002.

The 2024 Mississippi Rock & Roll Wheelchair Tournament, a Level 3 USTA Sanctioned Tournament, is set to take place April 26-28!
