JTT Captain of the Month

Jr Team Tennis Captain Spotlight: Noel Brantley

The USTA Mississippi Junior Team Tennis program wouldn’t be possible without the dedicated captains who lead teams each season. This month, we’re shining the spotlight on [Your Name], a tennis professional at The Club at The Township, who has been a JTT captain for the past two years.

Noel first stepped into the role of captain for her own daughter’s team and quickly expanded to leading groups of young players she also coaches. “It was a natural fit,” she shares. “I wanted my daughter to have the chance to play, and I enjoy creating opportunities for other kids, too.”

Originally from Arkansas, Noel and her husband now live in Mississippi with their three children — Caroline (16), Luke (12), and Reagan (6). Tennis is a family affair, with all five playing both tennis and pickleball together.

Each season, she captains two teams, helping guide her players both on and off the court. A former Louisiana Tech University tennis player, Noel still enjoys hitting the courts herself. While she mainly plays for fun these days, she occasionally competes in local day leagues.

When asked about her favorite professional player, she doesn’t hesitate: Carlos Alcaraz. “I like his demeanor on the court,” she says. “He’s so fun to watch.”

Through her leadership and love for the game, Noel continues to make an impact on the Junior Team Tennis community — both as a coach and as a parent.
